Exercise 4a6: Tape measure on the move (2)
Insight into the satisfaction of participants with the current situation within their sports organisation with regard to the inclusion of (migrant) women and girls
What do you need?
– line with numbers 1 to 10 on the floor
What should you do?
– Create a circle of participants
– Ask the participants which element of the workshop they want to put into practice / what they will do differently after today (choose 1!) and write it down with a marker on a strip of paper
– Participants take a step forward one by one and tell what action they have chosen to put into practice. Make sure they all mention a concrete action
– Place the numbers or cones in a row 1 to 10 on the floor
– Place the participants at zero
– Question: How much confidence do you have that you will actually carry out the specifically formulated action?
– Have participants simultaneously walk to the number that best reflects their own feelings about this
– Ask open questions, such as: Do you want to explain why you chose the number X? Why do you choose X and not X + 1 or X-1?
– A participant who chooses a score lower than 7 has formulated a too big step to perform. He/she is not confident enough to overcome barriers. Explore with this participant whether a smaller step towards more inclusion of (migrant) women and girls is possible.
Trainers advice
– Do not judge. Every step forward is a step in the right direction
– Do not accept criticism from participants, only advice is allowed
